Tenuta Luce Luce 2022

Toscana IGT

April 17, 2025 - Luce is a bold, Super Tuscan wine that blends the power of Sangiovese with the roundness of Merlot, creating a unique expression of Montalcino. Born from a partnership between the Marchese Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi, the wine combines dark fruit, floral and spice notes, and chewy tannins, showcasing the region’s distinctive character. The estate’s name, “Luce” (light), is inspired by the altar at Florence’s Santo Spirito church, reflecting the estate’s deep-rooted history and the balance between tradition and innovation.

Wine Spectator -June 23, 2025 "Well-marked by new oak, this red is saturated with cherry, plum, iron, vanilla, sweet Bourbon and resin aromas and flavors. Fluid and elegant, with assertive tannins shoring up the crisp,…

Wine Enthusiast -September 14, 2026 "The wine is leather wrapped on the nose with black cherry and hoison. The wine’s opaque juice is powerful looking, and doesn’t disappoint. The palate has strength but the balance…

James Suckling -May 08, 2025 "A dark and complex wine with aromas of bramble fruit, graphite and minerals. Full-bodied, it shows huge extraction and supple fruit concentration. Firm tannins with a stern but good finish."

Vinous -November 11, 2024 "The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino seduces with sweet smoke and autumnal spice, crushed red plums and hints of lavender. It envelops the palate with silken textures, mixing tart wild berries…

Domaine Roy & Fils Iron Filbert Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

Willamette Valley

April 15, 2025 - A fantastic showcase of the winery’s “home property,” the Iron Filbert Vineyard. Aromatically complex, showcasing ripe plums alongside baking spices and sage. The palate is lengthy and rounded from its structured silky tannins and minerality, tasting of candied cherries, toasted chestnuts and slate.

Vinous -July 01, 2025 "The 2023 Pinot Noir Iron Filbert Vineyard is dusty and floral, with a mix of rose petals and crushed violets complementing dried black cherries. It feels silken, revealing depths of…

Domaine Roy & Fils Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2023

Willamette Valley

April 11, 2025 - The calling card of Domaine Roy & Fils, the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is the only Pinot from the winery that comes from both estate vineyards in Dundee Hills and Yamhill-Carlton. The wine expresses the signature style of Domaine Roy & Fils, favoring elegance over power: floral notes mix with lifted red fruit on the nose, followed by a bright, sappy Bing cherry character on the palate.

James Suckling -May 05, 2025 "Bright and lifted red-fruit aromas of wild strawberries, confit cherry, rose petals and citrus peel. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and bright acidity, finishing with an earthy undertone.…

Le Macchiole Paleo Rosso 2021

Toscana IGT

March 26, 2025 - Paleo Rosso has been called Italy's landmark expression of Cabernet Franc. It is named for a type of local wild grass, which once covered the land where its vines are now planted. Originally a blend of several different varieties, the wine has been made from 100% Cabernet Franc since 2001, and was the first mono varietal Cabernet Franc to be produced in Bolgheri. The grapes come from several vineyards on the estate, including Vignone, Madonnina, Puntone and Casa Nuova. Each vineyard is picked separately, and fruit from the same vineyard is often picked more than once at different stages of maturity, resulting in about 20 different pickings.

Vinous -March 20, 2024 "The 2021 Paleo Rosso (Cabernet Franc) soars out of the glass with high-toned Franc aromatics. Crushed red-toned fruit, blood orange, espresso, mocha, licorice and exotic spice infuse the palate with…

James Suckling -July 22, 2024 "Wow. This is very polished and sophisticated with currant, spice, fresh-herb and cedar character that goes on for minutes on the finish. The tannins are so refined yet muscular, with…

Le Macchiole Messorio 2021

Toscana IGT

March 26, 2025 - Messorio, a Merlot monovarietal, is the winery’s crown jewel. Its initial vintage was 1994, and since then it has received extraordinary acclaim, including a 100-point score from the Wine Spectator for the 2004 vintage. The name Messorio refers to the ancient Tuscan practice of wheat harvesting, the most important time of the year in the Bolgheri countryside - once it referred to wheat; these days, it is all about grape harvesting.

Wine Spectator -March 14, 2024 "Plum, pomegranate and blackberry fruit is framed by toasty oak and vanilla notes in this fresh, brilliant red. Iron and tobacco accents add detail as this cruises to the long,…

Vinous -June 13, 2024 "The 2021 Messorio (Merlot) is a wine of pure and total sensuality. Dark, layered and enveloping, the 2021 boasts notable textural richness from start to finish. Dark red-toned fruit, spice,…

E. Guigal Saint-Joseph 2020

Rhône Valley

March 25, 2025 - Saint-Joseph today is one of the most exciting appellations in the Rhone Valley, and dare we say all of France. The work by leading producers such as Guigal, energy from young growers, and recognition (really, re-discovery) of sites capable of making wines of extraordinary depth and complexity; of the same family as its famous neighbor in Hermitage, but with a distinct suppleness and elegance.

James Suckling -March 29, 2024 "A well-built, velvety and balanced red with aromas of dark cherries, grilled meat, dried herbs and some crushed stones. It's medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Chalky texture with pulpy cherry…
