Wine Enthusiast’s August / September 2021 issue focuses on Italy and the trailblazing wineries hailing from the country’s innovative Southern region. Located in the Northern part of Basilicata, the mountainous area is home to the extinct Mounte Vulture volcano, the region is home to the high elevation vineyards that grow Aglianico. Here, the cool, dry and sunny climate is matched with the mountainous terrain to produce “energetic, structured reds that can deliver power and finesse.”
Paternoster is given a full page spread in the feature highlighting the area’s trailblazing wineries. The winery, which dated back to 1925 has a deep history in the region. Today, the wineries’ legacy is carried on by Fabio Mecca, fourth generation of the Paternoster family. In 2016 the winery became part of the Tommasi Family Estates.
