Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Marlborough

November 02, 2023
Section 94 is widely regarded as the most distinctive and greatest Sauvignon Blanc being made in New Zealand today. James Healy and Ivan Sutherland were among the first to begin fermenting their Sauvignon in barrel with wild yeasts, a technique that along with the old vines they use, leads to a full-bodied wine that is less fruit-forward, more exotic, and has immense textural complexity. Section 94 was planted in 1992, designed for low yields and manual harvests on free draining slity clay loams.

James Suckling -November 02, 2023 "This is a beautiful and complex wine with sliced apples, lemons, bread dough and salted pie crust. Some grass. Always subtle and complex yet shows intensity. Lovely acid balance and…

Saintes Pierres de Nalys Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2020

Châteauneuf-du-Pape

November 02, 2023
Translated as "holy stones", a play on the soils and history of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the second red wine to Château de Nalys is an altogether different animal.  Differing varietal and plot selections, fermentation, and aging result in a wine that is rich and ample, yet offers immense direct and approachable pleasure; a wine of red fruits, supple structure and brightness.

Wine Advocate -November 02, 2023 "With just 20% aged in demi-muids (the rest was in foudre or tank), the 2020 Châteauneuf du Pape Saintes Pierres is only slightly toasty and cedary, with most of the…

Laurelwood Pinot Noir Reserve 2019

Willamette Valley

September 22, 2023
Ponzi’s Pinot Noir Reserve is made exclusively from estate fruit, including some of Oregon’s oldest vines. For over 50 years, the Ponzi family has farmed 140 acres of certified sustainable vineyards on Laurelwood soils. Over time, the vines have evolved, with red fruit in their youth giving way to dark berry and brambly spice. The Reserve’s layered complexity make it one of the finest examples of site-expressive Pinot Noir in North America. As Wine Spectator once wrote, “All Oregon Pinot Noirs are measured against the Ponzi yardstick.”

-April 25, 2025 The World of Fine Wine published its spring issue, including an Oregon Pinot Noir report with rave reviews for Ponzi Vineyards! Most notably, the 2021 Ponzi Vineyards Laurelwood Pinot Noir…

Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc 1er Cru 2021

Beaune 1er Cru

September 19, 2023
Clos des Mouches is one of Beaune's most celebrated Premier Cru climats, and Domaine Chanson is among its most significant owners, with 4.3 hectares across the site. The name itself is a point of intrigue: "mouches" refers not to flies but to bees, a nod to the hives once kept here by the monks who first cultivated the land. The Blanc occupies 2.2 hectares on the upper part of the hill, where the east-facing slope catches the morning sun and the limestone subsoil covered with sand drives a wine of real precision and freshness.

Wine Spectator -September 13, 2023 "A rich, viscous white marked by lemon candy and ripe peach flavors. Well-defined, courtesy of vivid acidity, with a long finish, revealing an aftertaste of butterscotch and stony minerality."- B.S…

Domaine Chanson Bourgogne Chardonnay 2022

Bourgogne

September 18, 2023 - A great introduction to Domaine Chanson, this Bourgogne Chardonnay comes from vineyards in Auxerrois, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais, with limestone and clay soils. It spends 14 months aging, allowing it to develop its full expression. Pale gold in color, it offers intense aromas of citrus fruit, green almond, and an underlying minerality. On the palate, it is well-balanced, with pure fruit flavors and a racy acidity. The structure is clean and dynamic, and the finish is refreshingly crisp. Perfect with charcuterie, pâté, and goat cheese.

Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2022

Côtes du Rhône

August 21, 2023
Guigal’s Côtes du Rhône Blanc both sets and steps outside the standard for the appellation and showcases one of the great secrets of the Guigal family: their specialization in the great white Rhône varieties. While only 8% of the Rhône's production is white, a full 25% of Guigal’s production is white and they are today the single largest producer of whites in the Rhône Valley.
